🚢 Expedition Roadmap of the Layer2 Voyaging Era
IOSG & Chainlink’s global hackathon event, which is supported by top Layer 2 projects, is coming to a countdown. The registration for team/individual will open until July 21 (Wednesday), and the challenge topic will be announced on July 26. Each participant will have 3 days of online team-up and preparation for the challenge from July 26 to July 29. The competition of hacking & coding will last From July 30 to August 1 in the morning. Demo and awarding will be presented in the afternoon, with an incredible prize pool and bounties waiting for you!
We also set up a series of workshops for participants to learn from the sharing of thoughts, experience and skills from industry leaders; moreover, Q&A sessions are inserted for participants to communicate face to face with mentors on specific questions. The first workshop will be held by Chainlink on July 12, with the theme of “Hybrid Smart Contracts and Decentralized Oracle Network’’, and the second workshop will be held by MatterLabs on July 16, followed by Aztec, Polygon, Arbitrum, and Aurora, etc. will be announced soon, so stay tuned! The hackathon, after MatterLabs, The Graph, Aurora, DODO, Polygon, Synthetix, Perpetual Protocol, MCDEX, Celer, NEAR, Hop Protocol, dYdX, Gelato, and Loopring, have attracted other strong partners, as have Arbitrum, Aztec, Conflux and more top-tier projects. It is worth noting that this is the first time for Arbitrum to participate in a hackathon held in China. As one of the most recognized Layer 2 solutions, Arbitrum’s creation and development comes with a solid academic vibe, and has been mentioned and recommended many times by Vitalik, the founder of Ethereum. As the first collaborative hackathon of Arbitrum in China, we’re devoted to bringing more opportunities for participants to communicate and collaborate with top international projects.
Aztec is currently one of the Layer2 solutions in Ethereum that focuses on privacy issues and can synergistically integrate more Layer2 projects to enable them to have privacy features. Ensuring the privacy of transactions is a basic requirement for many financial services, but this pain point has not been well addressed before because the Ethernet blockchain itself cannot provide such privacy protection, and connecting Aztec Private Rollup to the DeFi application can greatly improve the privacy experience of users.
Conflux, as an underlying public chain focusing on security and interoperability, cleverly blends DAG technology and PoW consensus, effectively balancing security, extensibility and decentralization, extending transaction concurrency and system throughput, which is similar to many Layer 2 solutions.

📒 About Registration
We have now received 50 valid submissions, including 37 team registrations and around 15 individual registrations. We’re happy to see many participants from all over the world, including the United States, Japan, Korea, India, and Singapore. Overseas submissions have now accounted for 20% of the total participants; Domestic participants (including Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan) have accounted for 80% of the registrations.
No worries if you don’t know much about Layer 2 technology, you are more than welcome to join and provide full round support to the team in terms of UI design, product design, etc. Interested parties just don’t hesitate to join our group for more updates about the hackathon. 📅 Hackathon Rundown
The Hackathon will be held onsite for 48 hours hacking, and the demo and judging will be held in the afternoon of August 1; awarding will be based on the judging criteria provided by our judges onsite. Overseas registrants can participate in the demo remotely, and non-participants are also welcome to watch onsite. We look forward to meeting you all in Shanghai! We will announce the challenge and bounty topics on July 26nd, and the specific judging criteria will be shared with you with time, so please stay tuned!
